 PRACTICE SKILLS TEST

The image below is a good example of one you might be assigned for a completion task in this unit. The actual skills test is similar in many ways to this graphic and requires that you are familiar with many of the same skills and tools required here. Think critically about your tool selection, your process and how to be accurate and efficient in your build.

You have the entire class to complete as much of this activity as you can, as accurately as possible. You will be assessed on the following (see rubric)

To get a better sense of how this is marked, consider the following.

Although these elements look the same and they both achieve the task of creating an accurate shape, only one would get full marks. Viewing the OUTLINES demonstrates poor workflow and inefficient tool selection.

If you are struggling, here is a video of me walking another teacher through the build process. It's not a tutorial, per se, but it might be helpful.

Here's a file full of mistakes. How many can you spot?

This is an actual skills test from a previous years' course. It is no longer used as the skills test because it relies too heavily on the pen tool and not enough on other skills we have covered. That said, it's a good practice piece.
