 DURATION 2 LESSONS

Key concepts: Critical thinking and planning. Application of skills and tools.

 ORIGINAL BOOK COVER

See the book cover provided. Spend some time with your group. What do you notice about the design?

Before your group starts editing, identify what you are trying to do. Be specific about what needs to change. Make a list of ways to achieve each goal, and as a group decide if your approach is the best plan.

SOURCE FILE #2

 BLACK & WHITE CAR

Now that you have the book cover down to a near-empty canvas, you can start adding in the elements you want. Start by replacing the fish graphic with this Mustang.

  • How will you get rid of the white background? Is there an easy way? Hint: Layer Blending Modes.

  • What fonts are being used? How can you figure this out? Hint: Greeting Card

  • Replace the Granta logo on the book spine with the one you created in section 3.3.1 of this course.

When you're done, your final image should look something like  this  but with your name as the author.
