LESSON 3.4
COMPLETION TASKS: IDENTIFONT
Key concepts:
Using features of a font to identify a typeface using an online tool
For this activity, you will be using the online tool Identifont to identify a typeface based on the available characters.

IDENTIFONT
What's that font? Use Identifont to find out.

Look at your selected fonts and scan the glyphs for unique identifying features. Notice the lower case y and g in my script font. These will help me successfully identify the font.

This is an exceprt from a longer video that outlines how to approach this activity. This is not especially compliated, but here's a video in case you missed the in-class discussion.
Completion Task 3.4: Identifont: Create a blog post on your WIX website that includes a screengrab or photo of your selected greeting card and the result from Identifont. You may or may not be successful. Check all the possible matches that Identifont finds. Check your selected font against the Identifont results, paying special attention to any unique features to help see if you have found a match.
If you think you found a match, identify 3 features (with screenshots, like above) that make you sure you are correct, like I did with the lowercase y and g above. Use appropriate type anatomy terms where applicable (e.g. The lowercase a has the identical counter in both typefaces, which is a unique, identifiable feature)
If you were unable to find a match, identify 3 differences that make it clear that you did not find the right font. Use appropriate type anatomy terms where applicable (e.g. The ascender on the lowercase h does not meet the cap-height, whereas in the original it crosses this line.
