ST. REMO
I started with the San Remo Bakery logo. The first step in my process was looking at the shape of the font and identifying some key features that made it unique. The font used looks similar to Josefin Sans Bold. There are some key differences though.
San Remo's logo used a mix of upper and lower case glyphs, using an upper case R and N but not allowing them to extend above the x-height like a typical upper case glyph. Only the S rises to the cap-height.
I also noted that my name, St.Romain, uses the prefix St. instead of San. They have the same meaning though. I opted to use St rather than San to stay true to my actual name. I added -o at the end of Romain to better match the sound of the original name.
The characters themselves are also not exactly the same. You can see the modifications I made on the S, the lower case t and the upper case R.
I drew the wave graphics, sampled the colours form the original, editted the tracking and saved my final logo.
